China Molybdenum Prices - Nov. 30, 2018

China molybdenum prices were in the downstream trend in the week to Friday November 30, affected by lowered prices and quantity of steel biddings. The tightening availability of molybdenum concentrate offers supports for sellers, but downstream customers remain low buying interests. Therefore, trading atmosphere is quiet with thin trading volumes.

In the ferro molybdenum market, the decline in prices of steel biddings weakens market sentiment and sellers consider profit-taking. Transaction prices drop to Zgcc Cemented Carbide around cost levels. Molybdenum chemical and product enterprises, influenced by weaker raw material market, tend to wait for the next move in the market. The operating rate is maintaining at a relatively low level.

HBIS GROUP issued buy tenders for 60 tons of ferro molybdenum at RMB 128,000 per ton for November, down RMB 12,000 per ton compared with last round; Baotou Steel Group issued buy tender for 60 tons of ferro moly at RMB 125,200 per ton Tungsten Carbide Rods for December; ZPSS issued buy tender for 60 tons this week at RMB 127,000 per ton, down RMB 8,000 per ton.
